I think we can start preparing banners and light boards for the next F1 race, coz someone from ezoac has recently joined the F1 team.

omg..eugene's CONVERTIBLE is indescribably awesome! and so were his driving skills.
The sky was clear and the stars were out. The wind was chilly and the night was spellbound.
If only the road were longer, emptier, like the long winding Changi road, it would have been heavenly.

I was on the car for barely 15 mins and it felt like the best day of my 2009. haha alright, my life isn't that miserable, but just to show how great it was. haha.

Now I know why drives can be so stress relieving. We should go for ezoac drives at that never-ending Changi Road in the middle of the night or at dawn next time we all get our license! haha! (:

Oh and Slumdog Millionaire is a show worth watching. The cinematography is really unique, well-thought and executed, and the scenes of slums in India is fresh to the cinema screen.

thanks aaron for the heart-warming post (: i think traditions that never change such as yltc, atlantis, bikehike, maf serve as timely reminders to us of the many carefree and stress-bound moments we've braved through together. this friendship that has withstood the tears, sweat and blood of numerous mroc sessions has not come by easy, and we should try our best to keep it going. 1% luck and 99% effort, it works the same for friendship (:

haha anw my brother just dug out his yltc '93 SHAWNEE cap. the 'S' has peeled off and the 'A' is barely clinging on, but his face still lights up everytime he mentions oac. i think that is something we ought to keep in mind. even if our caps and scarves cannot withstand the weathering of time, the oac spirit can still be kept alive.

i just had a stupid idea that maybe we can pretend to be strangers and get to know each other all over again. haha. tt would be quite interesting. (:

HEY ALL! Since the SAF's so much part of us guys lives alr, I'll make a conscious effort not to talk about it!

Well, some must have been wondering what activities have gone by the OAC calender recently, so i'll try to write what I know about the happenings in HCOAC here! Hopefully it'd rekindle some nostalgia and memories of so much that have gone by!

Some info about the grand jnr batch (34th oac)

Name: Whoa ---- Dont know how they came up with that name, but hopefully it really encapsulates the zest they have towards oac!

Size: 26, downsized from about 38.

Enthusiasm: High (so far)

DIversity: High ---- few ppl from APOLLO! but the CI, zhenrui told the few of us that visited Atlantis that their batch consists of MANY muggers. Well... that may be a good thing, but they'd better know more than just textbk knowledge!
CIs: Both guys

Teachers-in-charge: Mr Lock's retiring real soon, and with his retirement goes his vast experience in leading OAC! Well.. the grand jnrs are gonna have a much harder time initiating activities now that Mr Lock's 'clouts' gone with him.

For this year, council and OAC's mutually exclusive, so I guess the batch would probably be a much more committed one. From the looks of it, I guess we can expect big things from then! LEts all try to be enthu grand seniors and support their activities in whatever way we can. Hopefully they'd get to know us better too!

Atlantis was just concluded last sat (3May), and it was really interesting to watch teams of HC ppl rushing around frantically getting to know the roads of s'pore better! The end point (Esplanade) was beautiful, scenic but not grand. There wasn't even an Atlantis banner around! Still rmb we were so proud of our own Atlantis banner, small it may be!

But on the whole I felt that Atlantis atmosphere was present. Maybe it was the challenge, the rush, maybe it was the all familiar route, but most ultimately it must be the quality time spent with part of the batch!

Next up's bikehike! It's gonna be on 32st may. I guess their Bikeike wouldnt be as special as when we organised it. I mean putting in so much effort for our last activity certainly meant something when it all ended. BUT, it'd be really fun and exciting to be spending a night together again. Maybe we could all go house visiting! Like last time when we crashed wenhui's house and taught her biking. Does she even rmb biking now?

Yes I also agree with hj that its already so difficult to contact each other though we're all working on the same land. Whats gonna happen when everyone's much further apart? When everyone gets to uni in 2 years time or less, we would then establish new networks of friends. Hopefully, amidst all the excitement of making new friends we don't forget the old!

Emos aside, life's really like a flowing stream, and we dont thread the same water twice. OCS, SISPEC, UNIT, TUITIONS, ADMIN JOBS, OFFICE DESK JOBS whatever, we're all leading pretty cool lives ourselves! Each has a story to tell, and interesting stories they must be!

SO, i propose a really nice gathering at a function room, somewhere in which we can sit down, chat and just plain soak in the atmosphere that was characteristic of our JC lives! It's still on the drawing board, but i really hope everyone would give me their MOST ENTHUSIASTIC and POSITIVE replies! We have much catching up, and reminiscing to do!

Next up, do u think we can travel the world together?

Been some time since someone updated eh? Seems like everyone is pretty busy...but i feel happy that we're all kind of working hard for what we're doing. whether it's NS, work, university, scholarships. It's hard to keep track of what everyone is doing, but when we gather together again, we're all really on a common ground. haha am i making sense? (:

Well, it's 4 months into 2008. I never could foresee myself at 4 months out of school. Usually when i see the OAC seniors, i'll think 'Hah, so few people, we're more united than you', because once school ends everybody is all over the place. It's not like last time, when we can reach each other by just a call, an sms, or by glancing over at the OAC bench.

But, we're still going strong, right? Here's a recap of our gatherings in 08 so far..

Three lucky people get to celebrate their birthday in ubin. How sweet! At least this time, jiexun is fortunate enough not to buy his own cake! I bet you are grinning now. By the way, we had our dinner at 'First Stop Ubin Restaurant''. Thanks to huijin who kindly partially treated us to a sumptuous meal! Haha. Poor yongsheng missed out on his share.

HELLO!! =D its been 3 weeks since the blog was last updated and almost a mth since our last outing! 7th march wasn't counted =S haha but it won't be long before we see each other again! 2 more days to the long-awaited yltc campfire and i'm sure the pop-ed guys (congrats!) are really excited to tryout the new nursery rhymes and classical poems they've just picked up from the army on the jnrs.

'When the river flows down from the mountain and turns into a pond, there will be fish.' abit outdated liao ar. =D

anw, here's a tiny peek into yl on day 2...

trainees doing pioneering. quite a spectecular structure compared to ours. at least it was intended to be. they have quite a big batch - 41. each grp has arnd 6-9 pple. think they're gonna have a hard time when it comes to downsizing. but overall they're quite an enthu bunch. and efficient, from what the jnrs told us.

the familiar ops room. surprisingly they had more pple playing poker than mugging. guess we were quite hardworking afterall, though i'm quite dubious of how much content actually went into our brains. oh and no worries that the instructors are underfed. just look at the spread of snacks on their tables. they had so much food shixian was generous enough to offer us a box of honeystars each. (hmm though the expiry date stated 31/12/2007)

the board that's more than a quarter filled with our words of care and concern. haha. their board's quite clean actually, unlike ours which was constantly artistically vandalised (:

ultimately, every yl brings tgt a grp of strangers and forges long lasting friendships. but every batch is uniquely characterized and i think i would never experience a better yl without the 32nd (:

HEY! for such a long time i've not crafted a single paragraph nor even a sentence! so right now i'll try my hands at writing again! It's quite true that NS sorta stagnates ur mind and makes it work much slower than ur muscles. I'm sure by now most of us guys have alr completed our fieldcamps! (save for pegasus which's like ongoing) Actually those times really made me miss YLTC alot! I did often compare how we do things in OAC with that of army, and my conclusion has gotta be that we do it much better! At least we don't spend the bulk of our time waiting!

haha i think the next time we'll all see each other wld be on results day. SCARY! and that'd probably be one of the jnrs precamp sessions! so we can all pop by for awhile! good new also that we're POP-ing quite soon! 4 more weeks left! And while we guys have sworn not to reveal army information (WITH OUR LIVES!), i bet the girls don't! So do update us about life outside THE island so we won't feel so out of place!

One interesting thing i've noticed in camp was that the oac guys march pretty well! That shows that we've all become much more disciplined than before, and i guess that's a plus point for us! While we may all complain how boring life is in camp, how our sergeants tekan us and stuff, deep down inside characters are starting to change! So thats a good thing!

Well... thats all i really have to write! cyall next time! and by then hopefully we all needn't be chao recruits anymore!!!

Okay so here's the plan - meet at Bukit Batok MRT at 2pm on Sunday 6th January 2008, and I'll bring you all over. Latecomers get to experience the feeling of hopelessness and despair as I will dao you. Muahaha!

If you all are bringing lots of delicious food (emphasis on delicious), things might get messy if you take public transport, so pls tell this to your taxi driver:"Hello uncle! Go Hillington Green Condo. Its at Hillview Avenue there, near Mindef.. you know? Dunno? OK I TEACH YOU! Take the PIE, then go to BKE, then Diary Farm Road. Turn at the junction between Diary Farm and Upp Bt Timah Rd, then turn at the next junction, then turn at the Mindef Circus. After that can see the condo LIAOZ."

in here you get to see fully-magnified(or not) map routes of cycling routes around singapore and other countries. the map loads quicker than streetdirectory.com and it's so simple to use. It's almost like a cheat sheet to bike hike!

an example, that details our favourite stretch along changi.
now all i need is to buy a bicycle.

As of now, the story goes:

On a mysterious dark winter nite.... all 23 Ezoac-ians were mugging hard for a's, when a blinding flash of RED light shot through the sky. A high cold voice screamed, "STUPEFY" just as 23 GREEN bottles flew through their windows and the scroll in there said,

" roll call position, 50 counts"

The chosen 23 reluctantly started the count and dropped their mugging stuff. The winter air was chilling yet oddly refreshing. But.. where did the green bottle come from?
1...2...3...4...the ezoac-ians chanted. The green bottle continued to float mysteriously in mid-air. WHY SO SLOW???NEVER EAT ENOUGH PAO FOR BREAKFAST ISSIT?" the shrilly and hauntingly familiar voice shrieked and sent chills through every vein and bone in their bodies. besieged with fear, 23 pairs of feet quickened their pace, and eventually met up at Changi Jetty, just as the 49.9999999999999999999999999th count turned 50to their utter disbelief, the choppy sea has turned into a massive landscape of dark murky ice. The voice continued "I HAVE A MISSION FOR U. THE 23 OF U WILL FIND EVERYTHIN U NEED IN THAT ARMY BOTTLE" Mou's army bottle began to change into a green skiboard in a transformer-like fashion. Bewildered by the ingenuity and flexibility of the green tool, he exclaimed, "What an amazing wushu object!"

then everyone died

Flabbergasted by the humiliating lyrics, Wen strained her hands to reach for the 'revive' button on the green bottle. She had to fend for her husband! Yet she could not reach it in time!! Her fingers just inches away, everything went pitch black and deathly still. Too short. So she screamed! The 'revive' button got frightened into submission, and when everyone regained their sanity, they found a note dangling from the bottle:
ah! it's singapore's 1st nationawide blackout in decades!
As everything turned pitch black, someone asked 'where's ANA?'. A muffled cry arose and... Someone lighted a matchstick. Looking around them, the 22 ezoacians found a nicely pitched 6-man tent before them! Yet Ana was still nowhere to be seen. The flame went out, but before the world was plunged into darkness again, an eerie glow came from the depths of the tent and ana's voice resounded from within...

'hur matchstick went out? dun worry i got lighter!'

She relit the match stick (and got lighter!) and held it right up towards the mouth of the tent. The silhouette within seemed to have taken the shape of a human, only bigger, MUCH bigger.

"Keekeekk!", the 22 ezoacians thought a crow flew past, but looked up to see none in sight.

While they all cringed in fear, Aaron mustered all his courage and stood out. Drawing a sword from his green bottle, he trudged bravely towards the tent, thinking, “If I don’t make the first step, who will?"

Sword in hand, Aaron stepped forward with a wild flame alight in his eyes, and gravely raised the tent flap. Eyes widening in horror, shocked to the core, cold sweat glistening on his forehead, quivering in fear, he went 'EEEP! IT’S A BASILOCK!'

Aaron dropped to the floor, petrified, but face full of love and affection. He was struck with the curse of love! It was love not for the foul creature (THX.. u made me gay!) Not love in any common sense of the word, but the love of freedom and faith! Partly obscured by the large size of the creature, he could recognize the letters on a RED bottle. It was glowing. A fair distance away, but he was sure... the words read: 100 counts swim to pulau ubin.

Without wasting a second's time, jx strapped Aaron onto the skiboard and pushed him onto the ice. Suddenly...... CRACKKK! The ice was breaking up!!
"Damn you're heavy!" Yelled both as the moist slushy world overcame them.

"Look's like a seachief's gotta do what normally a life boat's gotta do." JX muttered under his breath.

He had been training his moobs to withstand the whole Niagara falls beating on them, and the ice felt like cotton wool on his pectoral muscles. At this moment, the whole batch cried out, “EARTH FIRE WIND WATER HEART!”

Then the fusion of the 5 basic elements began. The holier-than-thou JX mustered the last of his strength and sealed the 10 tailed basilock into Aaron’s body! Tired and weary, JX fell onto the ground. Identifying the call for help, our dedicated first aid chiefs dashed towards jx and just as xiaomei leaned closer to jx for a mouth to mouth resuscitation, a force brought him not to JX's lips, but right into the icy floor, his face starting to swell. The swell got bigger and bigger and without a warning, it exploded with a sickening splatter.

To everyone's horror and disgust, a layer of metal shone from under the flesh, and an LED light seemed to forshadow what horrors there were to come. Time was up, 100 counts had passed, and the batch had to pay for it. Without warning, the environment changed. 22 bodies found themselves amidst the garden of Eden, where this huge tree containing knowledgeable fruit stood before them. peng sing takes the first step towards the tree, reaching his hand out to grab a strange book dangling from the tree, titled, "Read Me And You Shall See"

He was taken aback by the tempting title on the book. Turning back at his batchmates, he realised...

He flipped open the pristine white pages of the book, only to find them all blank. until a familiar handsome scrawl began to appear...

我是小..雨....你....爱.....我.....吗........?

There was no pen, nor correction tape, so he bit his finger. but only very little blood. So he started dotting the words...

"I'm not comfortable with conversing in Chinese. Would English do?"

"ho ho ho" bellowed a loud voice from under the chimney..

"Can you ever trust your senses?" Just as these words were uttered, everything changed once again. The tree of knowledge had come to rot, the cover of the book turned black, the environment took on a bleak picture - darkness. All around scarecrows replaced the trees that once bore fruits. A rickety sign hangs above a well, green with age and mould, a stench of neglect and stagnancy heavy in the air.. the words could jus be made out,"SECRET GARDEN - OAC instructors only".

While all were still confounded by the ambiguity of this intimidating new environment and the welcoming words on the sign, someone took a step forward. Instantaneously, the eyes of the scarecrow nearest to them lit up and stared intently at them, as if it were very much alive and breathing. None of the instructors seemed to realise that someone amongst them has broken into cold sweat, in danger of a fainting spell. within moments, hanyun collapsed onto the cold hard granite. SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!"

A loud BEEP echoed thru the stunned silence and weixiang materialised beside the fallen hanyun. there was a strange but gentle smile on his torn face. A ray of soft light engulfed all 23...no wait. there were only 22 ezoacians there in that garden that night. one of them had gone missing... Amidst the speculation of what had happened, the ezoacians noticed a dark trail of blood on the ground. Their eyes followed the trail until it led to a wooden sign that says "Welcome to Battle Royale"

With a gentle glow on his face, a magical flow of energy channeled through the trusty First Aid chief into the fainted body. The next moment, Hanyun recovered from the fainting spell.
Turning to the batch, Weixiang said: "Tonight, we have to prove ourselves worthy of the title of Instructors. Tremulous times have passed, none as vital as the tasks we must face together"
27 Oct 07, He paused, then continued: " Go now fellow instructors! Go fulfil your destinies! For I will always be around, as a guiding force in the hour of darkness. Show the world what we are made of!"

destiny... the word echoed in the their minds. the first aid chiefs stood tall and magnificent like the tower of babel, and their 1st aid kit shone like a sabre that cleaved through the darkness. "let us observe..." said brandon, always the cool-headed one, "just where indeeed are we. Battle Royale? Pulau Ubin? ice? scarecrows? is this all just a figment of our imagination..." "or did someone throw in a few LSD pills into the jerry can which we filled our waterbottles with?"

"never doubt the integrity of the jerrycan guardians!" retorted hj, in defence of the worthy qms. "say..let's do something more exciting."

with that, she leaped into the air with an unearthly shriek and followed the trail of congealed blood, past the wooden sign, heading straight into the unknown. The batch hurried forward,closely behind. hj's footsteps fell like drumbeats against the warm embrace of mother earth, but such upbeat vibrant tribal atmosphere was not for long. they reached the end of the blood trail.. and a lone tree stood twisitng into the sky. up the bark was dripping, agonizingly slowly, upwards, a single ruby blood red, dripping a crimson comet trail of blood down into the earth below.

Squish! Eric's sandals yet once again sunk into the muddy red pool just beside the tree. "Yuck!" He exclaimed. "I think I see a wooden chest right up on that tree," Eric exclaimed as he jumped around, hoping all the mud would just dissolve away. "Job for the airchiefs!" Shouted Mou and Shiu in unison, as they effortlessly scaled the old tree..*drip*

all of a sudden, the tree started swaying; leaves began to rustle; a chilling wind ensued. an image of the tree in whomping-willow fashion appeared in junhua's mind. she feared for ...his safety

high up in the dense foliage, mou gekked all ten of his abs and prised the chest open. bated breath, they looked inside to find a torn sch uniform, bloodstained, with an OAC badge in plain sight. suddenly everything was silent..too quiet..and before anyone knew, the branches began to move and trash about violently, determined to eradicate the intruders.. a voice echoes in junhua's head: it's now up to you. Hesitate and neither will see tmrw's dawn. That choice lies in your hands and only yours. now CHOOSE!

Brave like she's always been, jh started making her way towards the aggressive tree, seemingly fearless of what lies ahead. But there was something peculiar about her behaviour. Her eyes were dazed and lifeless, and she was oblivious to the frantic attempts to hold her back from the tree. Just as jh was about to reach for the branch that says “one shall die and the other shall live”, she awoke with a jolt. It was a trap! But the voice that’s been intruding her head sounded strangely familiar, like it belonged to someone she knew… ---someone's been shouting in my head. no wonder it's been hurting the whole day. i wonder who?---

Too late! Caught between a fury of swinging branches, she was at a point of no return. "Throw me the hemps!" She shouted, and with clockwork efficiency, the PnO chiefs began to ensnare the branches, which could do nothing but struggle desperately. Upon witnessing their hapless running partner Junhua trying desperately to secure the hemps to the main branch, Fungmin and Tracy dashed forward, and the speed at which the work was done nearly quadrupled! Teamwork --- that was their last partner in arms.

You guys realize that MAF was actually the last official school festival that we went to? and what better way to spent it with OAC! haha it was a really enjoyable night. Can't imagine spending better quality time with anyone else.

even though we missed the grand light up and songs and mass dances, which means we actually missed most of MAF, but it was an extra special night for ezoac! and even though we've seen so many pictures of ourselves, more pictures and videos couldnt fail to reignite our passion for each other (haha) :)

a big big big thank you and applause and hug to hanyun, junhua and eugene. that amazing video must have cost a lot of effort!! and thank you to the guys for the balloons :D

And with this, the jigsaw is complete. YLTC, OH, MAF, Open House, Mount Ophir, Atlantis, Bike hike and so on... Our term is drawing to its inevitable conclusion.

Its funny how a 5-day camp can forge such lasting and unbreakable ties between complete strangers. When we decided to call ourselves EZOAC, we have barely gotten to know each other. Then, in just over a year, we have shared and experienced so much together, gone through stuff we have hardly dreamed of. Unconsciously, we began to define what it means to be EZOAC, this unique identity we share. Our photo collection multiplies and probably cant fit into any number of DVDs. But in the process, our ties and friendships continue to be strengthened as we find out more about each other, even as we find out about ourselves.

At this juncture, as we are poised to end off our CCA term, think about everything and everything we have gone through. it is clear that we are so so much more than a CCA.
A CCA lasts for a year and people go on with their separate lives, unaffected, unchanged. A month later, when we step down as HCOAC instructors, we may similarly go on our own paths and choose our own separate destinies. We may begin to lose touch with each other, decades down the road. But, we will all share a common memory, one that was once such a huge part of our lives, one that echoes of joy, excitement and passion, one that we can look back on with no regrets and cry as we remember those crazy times we've had. And this memory, named ezoac long before we realised what it could mean, is what will hold us together, is what is so unique to us, and is what will surely last a lifetime.

What more can we ask for?

Hey all!

I just visited our seniors' blogs, and then browsed through the archives of our own, and I'm somewhat filled with mixed emotions...

A sense of awe, at how much we've been through, how much we've grown, and how much I've emo-ed over the past year and a half. (How can someone possibly be so emo!?!??!)

A sense of achievement, that we've sailed through our term relatively well - OH, YL, Atlantis and the Bike Hike to come, have been a great success.

But above all, a sense of fear that constantly claws the back of my mind - the fear that perhaps 5 or 10 years down the road, we may not even be able to recognise each other anymore. The fear that all the fun we've had will have to come to an end. A fear that will inevitably cause me to become emo.

Oh no, not again! )x

Something I read on our seniors' blog - only the best of friends can withstand the test of time. I think it's going to be the toughest one yet, but I'm sure we'll be able to pull through. Just as we held on tight to each other and emerged from YL last year with our shirt, lets continue to hold on to each other and never loosen our grip. Okay? (:

A disastrously successful recee =D

hi everyone! haha hope that yall have refound ur butt and thighs by the time u read this. thanx everyone for making the effort to turn up for this extremely eventful bikehike recee.

haha other than the fact that it didnt rain, probably everything else that could happen happened to us. out of the 17 bikes we rented, some had the usual gear and chain problems, one had a punctured wheel and had to be sent home, one had a punctured wheel and had to be repaired with spanners and some godlike repair skills by mou at aarons house, one had a punctured wheel (that makes 3) and had to be replaced with aarons own bike. aarons bike then got punctured as well and apparently the wheel was smoking, the adventurous duo of mou and aaron then had to hitchhike back to east coast (on the way the bike got dumped in a random forest). haha coupled with all the near-death experiences and screams, we are all still breathing and laughing at the end of it so i guess that means it was a success.

ok after this tribute to our night, i hope everyone still remembers the route, restpoints and places where safety briefings are required. heres something to refresh ur memory so try to run through it in ur mind ok?

my apologies for all the dangerous U-turns i made yall do and all the errors in judgement, and of course for all the exaggerations i made. haha jus thought it would be better for yall to overestimate the difficulty of the road =P

hi ezoac! our last event is upon us (2weeks away)!! so heres an update.

recee is on 26th may. pls meet at 745 at ecp and we're gonna start at 830, like on the real event. hmm so far we only hav 11 confirm going on both recee and the day itself. so maybe some groups may only get one instructor leading.. the other 2 who is only going on d day itself will probably station on the lorry cuz otherwise its realli unfair to those who took the effort to come dwn on both days. sorry sorry. but its realli for safety and all that =(

k next, pls send ur shirt sizes to waikuan if u haven done so cuz we will be getting an orange fbt shirt (that would be 15 dollars =)) participants are gonna get a cotton tee designed by hj.

hmm we REALLY dun hav a lot of time left to publicise cuz the participant list has to be compiled by end of next week so please do your best to tell this event to all your friends k? i realli cant stress this enough. so far we only have one guy who paid plus submitted the forms.

just feel like saying a BIG THANK YOU for turning up for this atlantis recce dry run, for sacrificing ur precious sunday, sleep, etc... although there were quite a lot of hiccups along the way, they were useful to helping us review the route, and we're really sorry for every inconvenience & unhappiness caused...

for those who werent here, we understand so dun worry (: just remember that we booked you on the 12th of may. you WILL show up on that day ^^

Hey EZOAC!!!

Haha just suddenly felt like posting. YL nite's just over & i'm like suddenly quite overwhelmed that time went by so fast!

YL nite made me rmb the times when we were in an equally frantic rush to get everything done right!! I actually prefer organising such an event rather than be invited to one! Its quite a different feeling altogether. Maybe its this sense of working together with the rest of u that makes it all really fun and memorable!!! Yep it is.. haha no maybes about this!

There's so much I really wish to remember & relive, but so little I actually recalled. Haha kinda dislike such a feeling, especially when the school days are gonna get much drier once we pass the baton on.

Pass the baton down to the next promising batch!

Yep really feel the 33rd batch has ppl full of potential! Kinda see in them what I saw in ezoac a yr ago! Time really has brought us closer! & I'm sure it'd for the 33rd too!

Haha it seems pretty early to talk about stepping down, since we still have the 2 upcoming events that would promise loads of fun!!! Just hope that no one gets bogged down by the reality of jc2 life!! After all... theres always the OAC bench & the ppl there to look forward to seeing every day in school!!!!

Haha just realised we havnt been taking much pictures WITH the oac bench, as much as it has become my second home. Yep should take more pics so that these memories can accompany us after we step down!

How will we be remembered? As one batch amongst 32 other OAC batches?

Haha those were thoughts that kept resurfacing in my mind. Haha maybe such questions don't need any answer. As long as we remember the times we saigang-ed together, the times we resolved conflict together, the uncountable times we laughed together, and had great fun together, I guess those questions doesnt really matter anymore!

Haha JC2 life's really hectic. & I actually have this one wish.. that there'd be one day when I see EVERYONE arnd for anything OAC!!! When we can really spend quality time together as a batch, and remember the times we travelled together!

Just like our grandseniors.. guess we'd also join their ranks once our term's over. But yeah, no matter what, I'd remember 31st, 33rd & this 32nd batch of 22 batchmates, with our unique stories to tell!

The 32nd travels. Haha thought of it quite sometime ago. I tink its time we fill the vaults of our memories with chronicles of our travels!!!

To inject some hype over the post YL post BLOCKs period, let's join the TAS Inter-Colligate & Schools Biathlon Challenge 2007!! I'm sure many will object but let me list down the reasons why we should not reject my suggestion.

Blocks are over!
YL is over! =( We need some motivation to last till Atlantis.
It's good for health. It's challenging to the mind and the body and the spirit!
It's like another Vertical Marathon all over again! I've enjoyed training for Vertical Marathon and reaching the top of Republic Plaza is a whole new experience. Just want to spread this joy of accomplishment to all of you!

Details:
21st April Saturday 1pm~ East Coast
Individual/Relay Junior College Category (under 18)
Swim 800m, Run 5km.

Please don't get discouraged by the numbers...we can form relay teams of 2 where 1 guy swims and 1 guy runs, so not so tiring! Plus its 4 weeks away we have ample time to train.

I need you people to SPREAD OUT ALL OVER THE SCHOOL. Anyone found loitering near the bench or slacking, 千刀万剐。

Only 4 people are to remain at the bench.

6 people will be at the marshmallow pit.

Lianjoo, kaixiong, waikuan, pengsing, huijin, aaron.

The rest of us will bring around cards in your hands, wander around the school like the attractive OAC people you all are, and give out cards to the impressionable j1s.

Nah. I'm just poking fun at JunHua's expense. Anyway happy birthday!

Tracey has already dedicated quite a complete and emotional entry, but i'm sure we all agree that Junhua is one strong girl, more mental than physical. it's very rare to find people who won't complain in times of fatigue, but Junhua doesn't complain, and we should all respect her iron character for that.

Quite a easy-going and humorous character, OAC needs an arty talented girl like junhua, just like Van Gogh needs a pyschiatrist. (that's a pathetic arty simile. forgiveness, doth preach!)
We are made up of such a small bunch of people, but we're one hard solid rock. But what colour is this steel-forged stone? Junhua adds it with her bold brushstrokes.

The Orientation Hike, Atlantis, Bike hike, and most importantly YLTC are all significant parts of our lives and memories, and it all subtly molded us into stronger, better selves. Getting down on the floor, repaying counts, sweaty bodies intermixed with fatigue and passion, grinding it through night and day. You have awaken the tempestrous desires and elemental fires for OAC within us! Rawr!

Your hard work, care and concern for us are evident in the most profound yet subtle ways. We were touched (but not in that way) by all the sacrifices you’ve made for us, and the scent of the aloe vera lotion that sends our sunburnt limbs into orgasmic spasm, and your words of support, will always remain in our hearts. These, we will preserve in our memories, and will pass them on to the future batches of Hwa Chong OAC like the sun and the moon!

Be disappointed, you will not! Now that its time for preparations for the A’ levels, we want to wish you all from the bottom of our hearts the best of luck. OAC rocks like how rock climbing rocks and will continue to do so until the World gets obliterated by a rogue comet, which would actually be more unlikely than striking 4D, so I suggest that all of you go buy 4D and may our legacy live on!

kayak challenge

The details of the kayak challenge are listed below:

Date: 25th August 2006 to 26th August 2006
Time: 09 30 (25/8/06) to 12 00 (26/8/06)
Venue: Pulau Serangoon

Sign up fee: $15/=
*Note: Participants will be given free goodie bag, a specially designed T-shirt and an unforgettable experience of a lifetime! Meals and water will be provided.

Brief description of challenge:
• Participants will sign up in groups of two, each group comprising of one elderly and one youth. (you dun have to find an elderly on your own)
• Participants will kayak from Changi Sea Sports Club to Pasir Ris Beach in a two-man kayak.
• Participants will be given a half an hour break to have lunch and rest.
• Participants will continue kayaking to an offshore island north of Singapore (Pulau Serangoon) from Pasir Ris Beach in a two-man kayak.
• Participants will pitch their own tent and stay over on the island for 1 night.
• Participants will kayak from the island (Pulau Serangoon) back to mainland Singapore (Pasir Ris Beach) in a two-man kayak the next day.
• A welcome celebration will be held at Pasir Ris Park to welcome and celebrate the arrival of the participants.

Programme day 1:
09 30: Assemble at Changi Sea Sports Club
09 30 - 10 30: Preparation for set off
10 30: Set off
10 30 - 12 30: Kayak to Pasir Ris Beach

Our Exalted, Second-Most Impressive (After the airchiefs, not AAron), Highly Decorated, Overwhelmingly Powerful Assistant Chief Instructor Han Yun 小姐 graces us with her presence today, being most delighted to have been born 17 years ago yesterday. EZOAC is delighted too.

Its great to have HanYun in OAC. In a batch flooded with semi-delirious people like Mou and Shiu Yuen we all need some sense of logic and calm contemplation to keep things in check and maintain that thin veil of order. I'm sure we'll all greatly appreciate the next 1.5 years with Han Yun小姐.

ok..so after a FRUITFUL climb at climb adventure on fri, the few of us - hanyun(aci), eric(treasurer), eugene(qm), mou & ahmad(air chief), lujie(sea chief), xinyi(first aid chief), waikuan(survival chief) and me(land chief), went on an EXCITING night urban hike from tanjong pagar to raffles place. =) yayyy. and at the most unsightly to-be-built integrated resort's construction site, we witnessed the most beautiful thing on earth...

Yo guys. I also have a friend who is jointly organising a night bike hike for some CC event. The route is entirely planned by them and any interested party may want to join in the route setting. It will probably be on a Saturday (3rd September). The route will roughly be 20km, and we're free to chiong another 50km if we want on our own. Tell me if you're interested =). YMCA-Youth for Causes Project
FuZion Challenge

We are a group of 4 students from 06s06 of National Junior College. We are taking part in the Citibank-YMCA Youth for Causes project, 2006. This initiative allows youths like us to experience social entrepreneurship, while helping the less fortunate in the society. We are organising a street sale of merchandise to raise funds for our Voluntary Welfare Organisation, The Singapore Action Group of Elders (SAGE). The sales of merchandise will also help us raise funds to cover the cost of our main event, which is a kayak challenge for both youths and elderly.

The objectives of our project are:
1. To raise public awareness on the importance of active aging.
2. Narrow the generation gap in families by providing an opportunity for the young and old to interact and learn from each other.

4. Educate the youths on the role that they can play in helping the elders participate in active ageing.

Sale Of Merchandise
-We will be selling specially designed fridge magnets (namecard size) to raise funds and promote public awareness on the importance of active ageing.

dey r organising a kayak challenge on 25-26aug(fri-sat overnight, will hv to skip sch on fri) in which volunteers will kayak wif an elderly(45yrs old n above) from changi to coney island(an island west of ubin, off punggol area) n spend a night at tt place n then kayak to pasirris n end wif e celebration e nxt day. sth like canoe camp i guess. dey r raising funds for e organisation as well as to cover e cost of this project. so pls help. u can just pick a day n come down to help out for e flag day. dey nid a lot of ppl to help out with e sale of e magnets.

OR if u r interested to volunteer for e kayak challenge itself pls sms me n let me know too. u do not have to go for e flag day in order to participate in e kayak challenge (bt pls go for e flag day too if u can). a training session(on safety n familiarisation) will be held one wk before e actual event. e exact details r nt out yet bt i will kp u all informed.

Congrats evryone! We've finally completed our 1* course. Well at least for xinyi it will be on August 13. We must all go and give her moral support! Someone must provide emotional support too =p. For ahmad's sunglasses.. let's just hope it will someday float up bukit timah drain and arrive at the hostel. Don't be saddened over it k Mr man? Dun forget our nxt sea activity is August 13th make it available!

Haha.. wow finally bothered to post! This blog hasn't been updated for very long, & our nice yl spirit's gettin a little rusty too! I dunno wut to say about our batch.. yall are really... special & unique. haha! Sometimes, i'm juz hoping every1 takes abit more initiative.

woohoo we're officially INSTRUCTORS. hohoho. anyway great dinner at forture today..it's so heartwarming to have everybody (almost) eat together at a round table. dont you think??? =D like we're one big happy family. hahaha. anyway i dunno why but i must say this: shiu and eric are so irritating when they're high TOGETHER. haha you must agree with me!

I was feeling quite bored this afternoon after my piano lesson and decided to give our blog a fresh new look while you guys are out in town having fun. :( WITHOUT ME.

Just kidding. I'm not going to kill myself over that yet.

This layout is kind of vintage-ish. And at least there's more room for bigger photos!

Anyway, if you hate this layout, it's too late to regret because I sort of lost the old template code. Oh well. For any comments, just look to the tagboard, and I'll see what I can do.
